Three people have succumbed to injuries suffered in a road accident involving a matatu on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway. The accident occurred neat Riani trading centre.
The matatu driver reportedly lost control and it crashed.
The accident occurred at the same spot where two years ago, 14 vehicles were burnt in a pile-up, causing more than 60 deaths.
The matatu, which was travelling from Nairobi to Naivasha, hit a speed bump, and crashed by the roadside.
The three passengers died on the spot while the six other passengers were taken to Naivasha Sub-County Hospital.
Naivasha Road Safety Group member James Kabono said: “It seems like the driver was new on the route and he hit the bump at very high speed, causing the accident.”
