AFC Leopards registered their second consecutive win after beating Kakamega Homeboyz 2-1 away in the FKF Premier League match played on Sunday, 28th February, at Bukhungu Stadium.
Goals from Clyde Senaji and Elvis Rupia in the first half were enough for the visitors to seal the victory. The hosts got their consolation goal from Allan Wanga.
The win leaves Patrick Aussems’ men fourth on the log with 25 points from 12 league matches, while Kakamega Homeboyz are 13th with 15 points from 13 matches.
AFC will now focus on their next match against Nairobi City Stars on 7th March, while Homeboyz will face Mathare United on Monday, 8th.
In another match played on Sunday, Bandari FC moved up to third place on the log after beating Ulinzi Stars 2-1 at the Kericho Green Stadium. Kariobangi Sharks thrashed KCB 3-0 at Kasarani Annex Stadium, Nairobi, while Sofapaka edged out Posta Rangers 2-1 at the same venue.
On Saturday, 27th February, Gor Mahia suffered their fourth defeat of the season, losing 2-1 to Nzoia Sugar at Mumias Sports Complex.
The defending champions took the lead in the 20th minute through Samuel Onyango but Nzoia Sugar levelled through Gaetan Masha in the 50th minute. Moses Mwale scored the winner for the hosts to snatch all the three crucial points.
Elsewhere, Bidco United ended Tusker FC’s 12-game unbeaten run with a 2-1 win at Kasarani Stadium.
Western Stima registered a goalless draw against Premier League newbies Vihiga United after a tight encounter at Mumias Sports Complex on Friday, 26th February.
