Another Big Accolade for Kenyan Oscar Award Winner Lupita Nyong’o

Oscar Award-winning Kenyan actress Lupita Nyong’o is basking in glory once again. The US-based actress, who was born in Mexico, Lupita is overwhelmed with joy after her first publication, Sulwe, was named The Best Children’s Book 2019 for readers aged between three and five years.
The 48-page picture book was released on Thursday, 15th October 15, 2019 with the “aim of encouraging self-love for dark-skinned girls all over the world”.
Lupita, the daughter of Kisumu Governor Peter Anyang’-Nyong’o, expressed her extreme joy at the news as, she wrote on her Instagram that “Amazon had named Sulwe the Best Children’s Book of 2019 for readers aged three and five, and just like Princess Serenity, I am so excited seeing so many of you young and hold wrap your arms around this story. It means the world to me.”
According to the synopsis, the book is an interesting story of a young girl named Sulwe, who goes on a journey to discover her own unique beauty.
