Arsenal Star Shkodran Mustafi Hails Arteta’s Incredible Performance

Arsenal defender Shkodran Mustafi has lauded Mikel Arteta’s “incredible performance with the Gunners” since his arrival last year as the head coach.

The German international said that Arteta had brought clear identity and ideas on how to play football and at the same time giving room for players to make their own decisions.

He added that within the short time, the Arsenal manager has created the momentum that has seen the team heading in the right direction.

“He has been incredible since his arrival. He has shown his aura and his personality just shows that he is so convinced of the way he thinks football should be and how he wants his team to play, and it you just agree with it and soak in all the information,” Mustafi was quoted by the club’s official website.

Arteta was appointed the Arsenal manager on 20th, December, 2019, signing a deal until 2023.

Shortly after been confirmed to lead the Gunners, he stated that he believed the the whole squad had lost direction.

“I want people to take responsibility for their jobs and I want people who deliver passion and energy in the football club. Anyone who doesn’t buy into this, or that has a negative effect or whatever, is not good enough for this environment or this culture,” he said.

Before the suspension of the English Premier League due to Covid-19 pandemic, Arteta boys were at position nine with 40 points after playing 28 league matches.

The EPL is expected to resume next month. A majority of the teams have started training after government gave the green light and instructions meant curb further spread of coronavirus.
