Arsenal goalie Bernd Leno believes that his Liverpool counterpart, Alisson, is the best goalkeeper in the English Premier League, having conceded the fewest goals this season.
Leno described the Brazilian as one of the best in the world.
“For me it’s clear, it’s Alisson. He’s good at everything and his stats are also very good,” Leno told Soccer AM.
“He’s played a number of big games for Liverpool and for me it’s clear that he’s the best goalkeeper at the moment.
“Liverpool have conceded the fewest goals of any other team in the Premier League this season, and Alisson is largely behind this achievement.”
Alisson joined Liverpool in the summer of 2018, for an initial fee of €62.5 million (£56m), and has been a regular in manager Jurgen Klopp’s squad ever since.
In his first season at the club, he won the Premier League Golden Glove for most clean sheets in the league (21), and kept another clean sheet as Liverpool won the 2019 Uefa Champions’ League final.
The following season, he kept another clean sheet as Liverpool won the 2019 Fifa Club World Cup final.
He was named The Best Fifa Goalkeeper and was also the recipient of the inaugural Yashin Trophy.
