Media personality Betty Kyallo on Saturday night, 30th May, hosted her last news programme on K24 TV.

In an emotional exit speech, Kyallo said she was grateful for the support Kenyans have given her for the time she has been at the station.

“Thank you guys for always watching and sharing with us on all our shows. We appreciate you and blessings to you. Never a goodbye but a see-you- around. We’re happy to always give you the best shows and amazing content @thesarahmwangi,” she said.

The celebrated news anchor joined the Mediamax Network Limited owned TV station in September 2018, several months after quitting KTN in a surprise move.

At K24, she introduced Upclose With Betty, a popular show that mainly focused on what day in a celebrity’s life looks like.

Her exit comes a time when the Kenyatta family-owned media company is going through a tough time.

Employees have been protesting after their salaries were slashed by half a month ago.

Some of journalists, including Kyallo, reportedly moved to court to challenge the decision by the management, which has cited tough economic times brought about by the Covid-19 pandemic.

Others, including Eric Njoka, took their rants on social media, accusing the company of being inconsiderate to its employees.

Well, the sassy presenter has made it clear that she is now concentrating on personal projects.

Recently, the TV personality invested in Betty Kyallo Lately, a YouTube channel that has already picked up very well. More than 30,000 people have subscribed, barely two weeks after its launch.

The web series focuses on her personal life and how she makes ends meet.

Posting on Twitter earlier today, Betty assured the fans that her star is not dimming anytime soon.

Few days ago, she also disclosed that her beauty salon business is doing very well.

In fact, she said that Flair By Betty salon was now moving to a new spacious apartment in Nairobi.
