Gospel singer Ruth Matete, who lost her Nigerian husband in a cooking gas cylinder accident last year, can after many months of sheer agony, finally afford to sit back and smile. The talented musician, who came into the limelight when she participated in and won the Tusker Project Fame talent show, some years back, turned a year older today. She lost her soulmate in their house at Athi River, but the strong link between them continues through her baby, who was born after her father’s death.

Ruth, who is now better known as Mama Toluwa, is looking prettier by the day, having shaken off her troubles.

Well, Ruth turned 35 today, 16th February, and looks so pretty.

“Well, hello there, 35🥰, happy birthday, Mama Toluwa!” she wrote, as she shared an amazing photo of herself.

Ruth’s Nigerian husband died in April last year, just a few months after their wedding.

“You will be blessed, more than you could ask. Despite all that has been done, the best is yet to come😊” she wrote.

Her fans and fellow gospel artistes joined her to celebrate her special day. They including award-winning gospel artistes Mercy Masika and Evelyne Wanjiru,

Ruth is a first-time mother and struggled with a few things before she got used to her new role.

Interestingly, for Ruth, bathing her little baby for the first few months was a real challenge.

She said she was afraid that she would injure her baby, especially her fragile neck.

However, Ruth is so lucky to have a caring father by her side.
