Kenyans should brace themselves for heavy rainfall, the Kenya Meteorological Department has warned.
The heavy downpours were expected in different parts of the country from today, 24th March to Saturday, March 28.
According to the forecast, the rainfall being experienced over the western parts of Kenya is expected to continue and was likely to intensify and spread to the central regions, including Nairobi, on Wednesday.
The rains will increase further to over 30mm in 24 hours over central and northeastern regions on Friday, 27th March, before reducing on Saturday.
Counties most likely to be affected include Kisii, Nyamira, Kericho, Bomet, Nakuru, Kajiado, Migori, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Elgeyo Marakwet, Nandi, Vihiga, Bungoma, Homa Bay, and Busia. Others are Kisumu, Siaya, Kakamega, Nairobi, Nyeri, Kiambu, Nyandarua, Laikipia, Murang’a, Embu, Meru, Kirinyaga, Tharaka Nithi, Kitui, Machakos, Isiolo, Garissa, Marsabit, Mandera and Wajir,
