President Uhuru Kenyatta has disclosed that one patient who had been diagnosed with the coronavirus disease in Kenya has fully recovered.
Addressing the nation from State House, Nairobi, the President expressed optimism that the country would defeat the Covid-19 pandemic.
“I can confirm to you that one patient has fully recovered from coronavirus and this is good news,” he said.
At the same time, the Head of State confirmed that 3 more patients have tested positive for Covid-19 in the last 24 hours.
Now, the country has diagnosed 28 patients with the deadly virus.
President Kenyatta thanked medical personal attending to Covid-19 suspected cases and patients for their outstanding services.
He also lauded Chinese billionaire Jack Ma for donating medical supplies to help Kenya combat Covid-19.
He continued to urge the public to observe all the guidelines issued by the government and its partners in the war against the Covid-19 pandemic.
The President reiterated on the importance of “Social Distancing”, which has been singled out as the main preventive measure against the coronavirus.
“Now we have to live with it. Social distancing is a must,” he said.
President Kenyatta further cautioned individuals who have been ignoring the precautionary measures. He said a blow-up of coronavirus in Kenya would prove costly.
The government would take more action if the public continued to ignore the measures.
Having implemented many options, the government could soon be forced to impose a total lockdown, which will not be healthy for the economy.
