A plane reported to have been expected to land at Wilson Airport, Nairobi, at around 9:30am, but which went missing and could not be located on the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) radar left Nairobians scared on Tuesday morning.
Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko is among the leaders who have cautioned Nairobians to be vigilant as emergency landing is expected at anytime.
“An emergency landing being expected at Wilson Airport in a few minutes. All motorists and residents around Langata Road near Wilson Airport be vigilant and alert. Keep safe,” Sonko posted on facebook.
It has, however, emerged that it was a search and rescue drill aimed at assessing the state of preparedness in responding to aviation accidents.
The drill dubbed ‘Okoa Maisha Asarex 2019’ was organised by KCAA.
