A group of rowdy youth caused disruptions at Deputy President William Ruto‘s rally in Burma Market, Nairobi.
The hecklers expressed their support for President Uhuru Kenyatta and the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI).
They also rebuked the second in command for promoting the “Hustlers Vs Dynasties” philosophy.
“We are not Hustlers. We support BBI and President Uhuru Kenyatta. Hatutaki Ruto,” the group chanted.
However, their noise did not stop Dr Ruto from making his speech.
The country’s number two affirmed that he is not to blame for the failures of the Jubilee administration.
The DP claimed that ODM leader Raila Odinga should be answerable to Kenyans on why the government has not fulfilled its promises, noting that the ‘Handshake’ changed priorities.
Two weeks ago, the former Prime Minister took the BBI gospel at Burma Market. He was also heckled by some youth, who wanted to give him a wheelbarrow, which is the symbol of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA), an outfit associated with Ruto.
Meanwhile, chaos erupted at Raila’s BBI tour in Githurai, Kiambu County, yesterday after supporters of the DP jeered him while addressing a rally.
The police were forced to use teargas to disperse the violent group before the ODM boss continued with his speech.
