English Premier League team Chelsea has confirmed the signing of Ajax attacking midfielder Hakim Ziyech.
A statement from the club confirmed the deal stating that “the move is subject to the player agreeing personal terms and he will remain at the Dutch club for the rest of the season”.
In 2018/19, Ziyech netted 21 times and recorded 24 assists in 49 games across all competitions.
The Dutch-born midfielder began his professional career in 2012 with Heerenveen, before moving to FC Twente in 2014.
The former FC Twente star has scored eight times with 21 assists in 29 matches this season.
In a ranking of the top eight European domestic leagues since 2017/18, Ziyech has the most assists, chances created and third for shots taken.
The 26-year-old will spend the rest of the season with Ajax before joining the Blues in the summer.
Ziyech will be the first signing for Chelsea since their transfer ban was lifted and will as well become the first major signing under manager Frank Lampard.
