The Ministry of Health has today, 26th December, confirmed that 130 individuals have been diagnosed with coronavirus over the last 24 hours, following examination of 1,973 samples.
The total number of confirmed infections at the moment stands at 95,843. Cumulatively, 1,031,721 samples have been analysed.
From the latest cases, 113 are Kenyans while 17 are foreigners.
In terms of gender distribution, 81 are males and 49 are females while the youngest case is a four-month-old infant and the oldest is 83.
The cases are spread out in Nairobi (64), Mombasa (13), Murang’a (nine), Nyeri (eight), Kiambu and Meru (four) cases each, Bungoma, Busia, Kwale and Kisumu (three) cases each, Kilifi, Machakos, Marsabit, Nakuru and Uasin Gishu (two) cases each.
Kajiado, Kitui, Laikipia, Migori, Taita Taveta and Nyandarua all recorded a case each.
Some 187 patients have recovered from the disease, 93 being from the home-based care programme, while 94 have been discharged from different hospitals. The total number of recoveries has now settled at 76,998.
Regrettably, two patients have succumbed to the virus, pushing the death toll to 1,655.
