Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) officers have arrested a man alleged to have sold two ostrich eggs at Ksh600,000 in Kirinyaga County.

Gichugu Sub-County Police Commander Anthony Mbogo confirmed that 56-year-old Joseph Gakono was seized on Monday, 28th September, in the afternoon.

The suspect was said to have been on the run after allegedly conning a prospective land buyer, Joseph Mwangi.

Mwangi had reportedly paid him Ksh320,000 for a piece of land after which he went into hiding in the hills.

Mbogo said: “The suspect has been on the run after getting wind of his impending arrest. He has also been threatening his victims with death for demanding their money back.”
