The family of Felix Orinda, Nairobi entertainer, popularly known as DJ Evolve, has allayed rumours that he has died.
According to DJ Evolve’s father, John Orinda, his son, who was reportedly shot by Embakasi East MP Babu Owino and seriously injured, is recuperating well at home and has shown great improvement.
Orinda asked for prayers for his son`s quick recovery and urged the people stop spreading rumours about him.
“Hii maneno nimesikia watu wakisema si ya haki sijui wameitoa wapi? (where have they got this from?) Hata mimi yamenishtua. Kijana wetu anaendelea vizuri. ( I was also surprised because he is doing well) Kila mtu aombe Mungu apone (People should pray to God to heal him. Sahi anaweza kukaa pekee yake for around one hour ndo awekwe alale,” he said.
On Tuesday morning, 8th June, there were reports on social media that DJ Evolve had succumbed to injuries he sustained in January 2020 after he was allegedly shot at B-Club, Kilimani in Nairobi, by Embakassi East MP Babu Owino.
MP Owino has been charged with attempted murder and bailed.
DJ Evolve is at his parents’ home in Fedha Estate, where he has been staying since he was discharged from Nairobi Hospital in June last year.
Speaking in an interview with NTV two weeks after being discharged from the hospital, he said his condition had not got back to normal.
“At least nowadays, I can sleep. Before, I couldn’t sleep at all. I needed medication to put me to sleep,” he said then.
“I’m able to move my limbs but I can’t move my arms. I’m just here. There’s nothing I can do for myself. I was really traumatised in the beginning, but I have learnt to live with it.”
