Borussia Dortmund recorded their second Bundesliga win, beating Vfl Wolfsburg 2-0 in the Volkswagen Arena on Saturday, 23rd May.
Since the return of the German championship, Dortmund have continued to defend their second place in the league standings, while eying the top place in race for this year’s title.
Raphael Guerreiro, who hit a brace in last weekend’s 4-0 win over Schalke 04, opened the scoring board for Dortmund in the 32nd minute before Achraf Hakimi added the second goal in the 78th minute.
Sixth-placed Wolfsburg finished the match with a man down after Felix Klaus got a straight red card in the 82nd minute.
With the victory, Dortmund reached 57 points, one less than Bayern Munich, who are currently playing with Eintracht Frankfurt.
Dortmund will next face arch-rivals Bayern Munich on Tuesday, 26th May at Signal Iduna Park.
In other matches played today, Bayer Leverkusen, won 3-1 against Borussia Monchengladbach, Werder Bremen beat Freiburg 1-0 while Paderborn drew with Hoffenheim 1-1.
