Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua on Tuesday, 20th September, visited presidential escort officers who were recently injured in a road accident.
The officers, who are at the Nairobi West Hospital, were injured while in the line of duty.
In an update through his social media, DP Gachagua noted that the officers were recuperating and would be discharged soon.
The DP did not disclose any details regarding the road accident.
According to the photos shared, one of the officers sustained injuries on his arm and leg.
“Took time to visit officers of the Presidential Escort admitted to hospital after a road accident. I am happy they have made substantial progress and the doctors assured me of their discharge in the next few days. We celebrate our police officers for their patriotism and commitment,” he tweeted.
Gachagua’s visit comes barely 24 hours after he moved into the Deputy President’s office at Harambee House Annex.
“We are now ready to work and change our country’s trajectory towards recovery. I have settled at my new office at Harambee House Annex and it’s all systems go.
“I thank the senior staff at the office of the Deputy President for the very exhaustive brief and the assurance of them being efficient in running the office and service delivery to the people of Kenya,” DP Gachagua tweeted.
