Controversial city preacher, Pastor Godfrey Migwi has attracted heavy criticism after posting on his Facebook page a photoshopped image of ODM leader Raila Odinga with a witch doctor.
The man of the cloth alluded that the former Prime was seeking dark powers to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta next year.
In the photo, the alleged witch doctor was holding a leopard skin and giving instruction to the AU Special Envoy on Roads and Infrastructure.
“Powerful politics,” he captioned the fake photo.
Netizens quickly noticed the picture was generated and called out the pastor. He pulled down the post minutes later.
Migwi is a staunch supporter of Deputy President William Ruto.
He is on record as saying that although the DP has been accused of embezzling public resources, the church should embrace him just because he contributes handsomely during religious functions.
The House of Grace church founder also linked the ODM boss to witchcraft.
“Even if someone is a thief and comes to church, read 2nd Corinthians 11:7, Paul says ‘I was stealing from other places so that I will not bother you. Therefore, if a person steals and brings the money to the church, what I would tell you is, it is better than a thief who steals and takes his money to a witch doctor,” he claimed.
Here are some of the reactions to the fake photo:
Polycarp Hinga: “A poorly done photoshop by a bishop who once misquoted the scripture and claimed that it is okay for Ruto to steal.”
Mary Kigwa: “I pity his flock.”
John Mwangi: “He is a frequent visitor at DP’s residence, so it is expected of him.”
Soli Michael: “Intoxicated by handouts.”
Mwangi Ngugi: “This is a religious conman.”
Shem Mbuu: “It seems the Tangatanga team has run out of content.”
Shaban Ibrah: “To remain relevant he has to mention Raila all the time.”
Alex Daniel: “Since Raila visited Mt Kenya, the Tangatanga brigade went into panic mode and now they have to soil Raila’s name.
Litkenya.com understands that Migwi is contesting for the Mathioya parliamentary seat under DP Ruto’s United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
