Political observers will in the next few days be trying to figure out and interpret the implications of the latest interaction between two of Kenya’s political heavyweights.

In a dramatic turn of events, Deputy President William Ruto and ODM leader Raila Odinga on Friday, 20th March, visited Jubilee Party Secretary-General Raphael, who is recuperating at his Nairobi home from injuries suffered in a recent road accident.

Interestingly, the politicians, who have not been seeing eye to eye lately, found themselves at Tuju’s residence at the same time.

In a photo doing the rounds on social media platforms, the two men are seen having a good moment together.

However, it is is not clear whether Ruto and Raila had planned the rare meeting or it was purely by accident.

As of now, none of them has issued any statement to tell more about today’s occurrence.

However, Senate Majority Leader Kipchumba Murkomen revealed more about the visit on his Twitter handle.

From Murkomen’s pictures, Migori Governor Okoth Obado, Nakuru Senator Susan Kihika and Nyeri Woman Representative Rahab Mukami were also present.

In other photos circulating online, Gatundu South MP Moses Kuria was also at Tuju’s home.

Tuju was involved in a grisly accident on the Nairobi-Nakuru highway on 12th February, as he made his way to the funeral of former President Daniel arap Moi.

The Jubilee SG was initially treated at Kijabe Mission Hospital and later transferred to Karen Hospital in Nairobi. On 20th February, President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered that he be flown to the United Kingdom for specialised treatment.

He returned home on 9th March, his health having improved greatly.
