A viral video of Garissa Township MP Aden Duale removing Kilifi County governor aspirant George Kithi from a line has sparked outrage.

On Tuesday, Deputy President William Ruto welcomed Kilifi Governor Amason Kingi to his UDA party after he defected from the Azimio La Umoja movement.

The second in command was having a mic-check with numerous Kenya Kwanza bigwigs before the press conference, including Musalia Mudavadi, Amason Kingi, Aden Duale, National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, and Moses Wetangula.

Mr. Kithi then enters and walks straight to where Governor Kingi is standing, attempting to create space between Mr. Mudavadi and Kingi.

Mr. Duale then walks in and taps him on the back twice before grabbing his arm and pulling him out of the line up.

When contacted, Mr. Duale claimed he had no idea who Kithi was and was simply trying to follow protocol.

“I have no idea who he was or why he was trying to insert himself between the Deputy President and Musalia Mudavadi,” he said, according to Citizen Digital.

According to Duale, everyone was assigned a position behind the Deputy President, and Mr. Kithi was not present at the time.

“It was a security concern, and I tried to interfere before the DP’s security arrived and removed him.” “Everyone had been presented in the boardroom before the press conference, and Kithi was not there because he arrived late, so we didn’t know who he was.”
