Elderly Woman Leaves Kenyans in Stitches as She Criticises BBI in Broken English

An elderly woman in Murang’a County has tickled Kenyans after criticising the Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in her Kikuyu language, but spicing up her message with broken English.

The grandma, who was attending a meeting organised by Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro, said that Mt Kenya residents were totally against the BBI.

She noted that the locals do not even understand what BBI is.

“What is BBI? Tell me what is BBI? I can’t understand,” she said.

Shush Wa Mjini, as she is popularly known, also wondered why President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga were “forcing” Kenyans to accept their project.

“We don’t want this thing. We hear it has very bad things and only leaders will benefit and not Kenyans,” she stated.

She also asked Kiharu MP Nyoro to make sure she meets Deputy President William Ruto.

“Here is Ruto (to mean the region supports the DP). We don’t know any other leader. Nyoro, tell me when I am going to meet Ruto,” she said.

While a good number of Kenyans found the video hilarious, staunch BBI supporters did not see anything funny in it.

They were of the opinion that MP Nyoro coached the woman to dismiss the BBI document.
