Eliud Kipchoge is insanely famous and influential. A child that’s weaning should understand as much.

The marathon ace ranks among the world’s superstars in athletics, with a trophy cabinet for the doubting Thomases.

Kipchoge is synonymous with crushing records – some of them his own – and he was the first marathon runner to break the two-hour barrier at the Ineos Challenge in Vienna in October 2019, though the race was unofficial and assisted.

Unsurprisingly, Kipchope takes home big money for every race he participates in. Just last month, the Olympian, smashed his previous record at Berlin Marathon by 30 seconds, pocketing around Ksh13,560,000. The Ineos Challenge earned him tens if not hundreds of millions.

Off-the-friend, the GOAT (Greatest of All Times) is a marketing star and a respected brand ambassador.

Big brands are always lining up with seven-figure cheques to hand the legendary marathoner.

Some of the giant brands Kipchoge has worked with include Nike, Isuzu East Africa, and M-Pesa. Companies like INEOS (a petrochemicals giant), Maurtens AB, and NN Group have also poured big bucks into Kipchoge’s accounts.

Currently, the mouthing-watering multi-million shillings deals with Nike, Isuzu and NN are still running.

He is also an entrepreneur. In 2021, he jumped on the NFT (non-fungible tokens) wave and made an eye-popping Ksh4 million by auctioning his highlights of the 2018 Berlin Marathon and the historic Ineos race.

Leveraging on his talent, it is common knowledge that Kipchoge makes more off-the-field than on it.

There is more to this long-distance runner. He is controversy-free, his humility is out of this world, values and protects his family and his philanthropic endeavors are to be admired.

Eliud is married to Grace and they have been blessed with three children, Lynee, Griffin, and Jordan. Occasionally, he will post helping his children with homework.

Through Eliud Kipchoge Foundation, the 37-year-old is an ardent supporter of education and environmental conservation.

On his Foundation website, he shares: “Through education and environment conservation, I hope to share my experience and my solidarity with those who need it.”

One of his hobbies is reading self-help books.
