Former TV journalist Jacque Maribe is today the proud mother of a seven-year-old boy.

What many may not know is that the pregnancy was not her first one.

Jacque revealed that she had several miscarriages before baby Zahari came.

For reasons better known to herself, she took to her IG to narrate how she unexpectedly found out that she was pregnant.

She actually realised it through her friend while on a trip to South Africa.

“One day, while in South Africa, a good friend of mine told me I had mood swings like a pregnant woman. It was the hardest trip I did. I was throwing up literally all the time. But I didn’t think I could have been pregnant because the baby daddy had said we wait a while,” she recalled.

Her mother would later take her for a test and yes, she was pregnant with comedian Eric Omondi’s baby.

Jacque said that carrying the pregnancy to term meant everything to her.

“See, I had gone through miscarriages. During this pregnancy, every single day was a blessing. I chose 14th, and boom, this cute child of mine came,” she said.

The single mother said this is why she is so protective of her son.

“I am very particular about my son. I have invested in his well-being. I am his mother not for the name but for his life. So many times I would have lost him during that pregnancy. So when you see me being an overly protective mum, you know,” she explained

The comedian father of Maribe’s son is fond of his son and his mother.

“MY PEOPLE 😍😍😍😍❤️❤️❤️!” he commented on Jacque’s post

The boy celebrated his seventh birthday in May, and his mother was full of happiness.

“Zahari, happy 7th birthday…it has and continues to be a beautiful journey of life. I’m proud to be your mum!”
