Fight Erupts at MP’s Burial as John Mbadi Remark on DP Ruto Backfires

ODM chairman John Mbadi had a hard time at the burial of Msambweni MP Suleiman Dori, when he tried to link Deputy President William Ruto to the Ksh39 billion fake firearms procurement deal.

The Suba South MP had to cut short his speech after a section of the crowd jeered him.

Mbadi had claimed that the second highest office in the land was being used for criminal activities, a message that backfired.

Yanga MCA Yusuph Mbwana confronted the National Assembly Minority Whip, saying that the MP had shown a lack of respect for the bereaved family.

“We are here to bury our friend and not to condemn one another,” the MCA said.

Others leaders hurriedly separated the two as they almost engaged in a fight.

Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya warned leaders against engaging in politics during funerals, a sentiment that was supported by his Kilifi counterpart, Amason Kingi.

The ODM lawmaker died this morning at Aga Khan Hospital, Mombasa, after a long battle with cancer.
