English Premier League team Arsenal is in the final stages of completing the appointment of former player Mikel Arteta as the new manager. The deal is likely to be announced before Saturday’s trip to Everton, but there is still some paperwork to do, which might delay it. Arteta has been the assistant coach at Manchester City to manager Pep Guardiola, a fellow Spaniard.
On Tuesday, the Mirror Sport revealed that Arteta, 37, had agreed to take the job after negotiating a three-and-a-half-year contract.
Former long-serving Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who is now a top official at Fifa headquarters, believes that Arteta has the potential and credentials to effectively manage the club.
“I believe that Arteta certainly has a great future,as he has learned a lot in his first time as an assistant coach.”
