‘Hatuogopi Jela’: Raila Declares ‘Ruto is Not The President of Kenya’

“Bring it on!” The Kenya Kwanza battalion led by President William Ruto dared Azimio la Umoja leader Raila Odinga ahead of his much-publicized rally today.

Well, Raila, in his usual element, without mincing any words addressed thousands of his supporters at the historic Kamukunji Grounds in Nairobi.

In a bare knuckle written statement, the opposition leader excoriated the President and his entire administration, terming the new regime as an “illegitimate government”.

For the first time since the August 9 presidential election and the subsequent petition at the Supreme court, Raila declared that he and his followers will not recognize Ruto as President or any other official he has appointed.

He maintained that the poll was rigged in favour of Ruto.

Outgoing election boss Wafula Chebukati, commissioners Boya Molu and Abdi Guliye conspired to manipulate the results, Raila claimed.

The former Prime Minister added that he will be steadfast in seeking electoral justice and dared Ruto to resign.

“If it is going to take the resilience of the people of Kenya to help Africa sort out its election problems, I am ready to lead that process,” Raila said.

He was categorical that threats from the top government leaders, including the President himself, will not derail his cause.

He said if doing the right thing will land him in trouble, he was ready to go to jail.

In addition, he appealed to his supporters to defy policies of the new government as he and his brigade push for reforms.

The Azimio boss stated that the tax laws being formulated by the government were punitive and must be dropped.
