How Organisers of Sagana 3 Meeting Shielded Uhuru From Heckling

Organisers of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s Sagana 3 meeting at Sagana State Lodge in Mathira, Nyeri County, made a smart move to make the event successful.

When thousands of the locals gathered outside the protected area, organisers contemplated sending them away, as controlling the crowd would be a nightmare.

Reports that area MP Rigathi Gachagua had dispatched his supporters to the meeting to heckle the President made the matter even worse.

But a bold decision was made that the people be allowed in.

However, several steps were taken to ensure the crowd would not jeer the Head of State.

As each of the residents entered, he/she would be given some money.

Litkenya.com has reliably established that each person received between Ksh1,000 and Ksh5,000, depending on the time one arrived. The “early birds” were most lucky.

While inside the premises, they were served with a heavy breakfast and lunch.

The heavy presence of security officers may have also scared those who may have intended to shout down the President.

These measures guaranteed the President a smooth session and everything went as planned.

The Tangatanga camp has admitted that Gachagua had sent some people to the function, but rubbished claims that he wanted them to heckle the Head of State.

“Hon Gachagua you are schemer. How can you mobilise your constituents to invade Uhuru Kenyatta’s Sagana 3 meeting, collect Ksh3,000 each, and come back to Mathira? The Head of State addressed the wrong crowd. We are demanding Sagana Four,” Kimilili MP Didmus Barasa said.
