Chelsea star Jorginho’s agent, Joao Santos, has denied reports that the Italian midfielder will be leaving the English Premier League club to join his former manager, Maurizio Sarri, at Juventus.
There have been rumours that Sarri is keen to recruit his former player, which whom he worked at Napoli and Chelsea.
Jorginho moved from Napoli to Chelsea in 2018, where he won the Uefa Europa League in his first season.
Speaking on the future of Jorghino to TuttoJuve.com, Santos said: “I only hear about these rumours from the newspapers because nobody from Juventus has contacted me.
“Maurizio Sarri appreciates him very much as a person and a player, they worked very well together, but that’s all there is to it right now. The player is focused only on Chelsea, he’s resumed training and is preparing for the Premier League restart.”
He noted that it would be difficult for Juventus to buy him due to the coronavirus pandemic that has affected the transfer market.
“In my view, it would be difficult for the Bianconeri to buy him today, because the transfer market has changed with the pandemic and Jorginho has a contract with Chelsea until 2023. He is the vice-captain and considered an important player for the squad.
“I don’t just mean Juventus, but all the biggest European clubs would struggle to pay that much for one player right now,” he added.
The Italian Serie A is expected to resume this month, and Maurizio Sarri will be looking forward to winning the league, which he did not manage to do while at Napoli.
Currently, Juventus top the league with 63 points followed closely by Lazio with 62 pounts while Antonio Conte side Inter Milan come third with 54 points.
