Jubilee Party has given a briefing on the health of Secretary-General Raphael Tuju, who is nursing serious injuries suffered in an road accident.
In a statement seen by LitKenya.com, Jubilee Communication Director Albert Memusi said that medical personnel at Karen Hospital, Nairobi, had stabilised Tuju’s health.
The SG is reportedly making good progress in his recuperation.
“The secretary-general, Raphael Tuju, continues very good care under a team of specialists and nurses at Karen Hospital.
“As a party we are in close contact with his immediate family and they have expressed satisfaction with the level of care been provided,” the statement added.
The party thanked the medical staff at Karen Hospital, who are working hard to ensure that Tuju recovers well.
The Kijabe Mission Hospital team also received appreciation from Jubilee for attending to the SG after he was taken there minutes after the accident. His ribs were affected.
Tuju was involved in an accident on Wednesday, 12th February, when he was being driven to Nakuru to attend the burial of former President Daniel arap Moi.
His car collided head-on with a matatu, which was trying to overtake a stationary car.
The impact of the collision was huge.
The matatu driver was on life support, while Tuju’s driver and bodyguard were also hospitalised.
