It seems some Kenyans were waiting for the opportune time to attack popular rapper Julius Owino aka Juliani almost a year after he eloped with the spouse of outgoing Machakos Governor Alfred Mutua.
Juliani found himself under fire after criticising Tanzanian Bongo superstar Diamond Platnumz after his performance at Azimio la Umoja;s final rally at the Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi yesterday.
Diamond entertained the enthusiastic crowd for about 10 minutes before ushering in Azimio flag bearer Raila Odinga to make his speech.
Juliani felt that Diamond’s show was below par.
He added that a Kenyan musician would have done better.
“Diamond in Kasarani was distasteful. Any Kenyan talent would’ve sufficed,” he said.
His comment sparked mixed reactions, with many trolling him and some on his side.
Juliani, who turned the tables on Governor Mutua, and snatched former Machakos First Lady Lilian Nganga, was told that he has no moral authority to lecture Azimio for hiring Diamond to perform.
He was reminded that he should first mend his ways because it was not right to date a governor’s wife when there are so many single women out here.
Now have a look at the comments we have sampled for you.
Starlad Harry: “Juliani wants to use the Diamond Platnumz name to chase clout, but let him be aware that Raila is already the fifth.”
Esther Kabeni: “Diamond represents East Africa because he has kids in Kenya, Uganda n Tanzania.”
Ricardo Ernesto: “The only thing Juliani knows is cooking chapatis for other people’s wives.”
Lau Mbuthia: “Juliani has complained that it was ‘distasteful’ for Diamond to perform at Azimio rally today because Kenya has very many good artistes. People are telling him it is the same way Kenya has very many single beautiful women but he went for someone’s wife.”
Jeff Murila: “You also went for someone’s wife yet there are so many single women in Kenya. Did you hear Azimio complain?”
Nyar Kisii: “Juliana knew Kenya had so many single mothers and ladies but he choose to go after Lilian, who was happily married to Mutua. A wife snatcher cannot tell us anything.”
