Defending champions Gor Mahia suffered their second consecutive defeat in the FKF Premier League after falling 4-3 to unbeaten Kariobangi Sharks in a match played at Kasarani Stadium, Nairobi, on Sunday, 10th January.

A brace by Eric Kapaito and goals by Daniel Sakari and John Kuol were enough to seal the win for the slum boys.

The Green Army’s goals were scored by Clifton Miheso, John Macharia and Joachim Oluoch.

With the win, Kariobangi Sharks moved to second place on the FKF PL table, while Gor Mahia FC remained in 16th place with four games in hand.

Gor Mahia assistant coach Patrick Odhiambo was in charge of today’s match with newly appointed Portuguese coach Carlos Manuel Vaz Pinto expected to take charge of the next game when K’Ogalo host Mathare United on Thursday, 14th January.

The 46-year-old will replace Brazilian coach Roberto Oliveira, who was sacked by the club last month for lack of the coaching papers required to oversee Caf matches.

In other league matches played on Sunday, visitors Tusker FC edged out hosts Kakamega Homeboyz 1-0 at Bukhungu Stadium while Nzoia Sugar managed a 1-1 draw against Western Stima at the Sudi Stadium in Bungoma.

On Saturday, 9th January, Wazito FC beat AFC Leopards 1-0 at Utalii Grounds, Nairobi. The match marked Ingwe’s second consecutive defeat, having suffered a 2-0 loss to Western Stima previously.

Elsewhere, Bandari FC was held to a 1-1 draw by Zoo Kericho at Afraha Stadium, Sofapaka FC thrashed Mathare United 4-2 at Wundanyi while league leaders KCB FC continued their unbeaten run following a 1-0 victory over newly promoted Bidco United at Kasarani Stadium in Nairobi.
