The Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) has appointed Emile Nguza Arao as its new Director-General.
His appointment takes effect from 22nd April, 2022.
Arao, who is the East African Community Civil Aviation Agency CEO, is set to take over from Captain (Rtd) Gilbert Kibe who is retiring having served for two terms.
Kibe assumed office following the departure of Col Hilary Kioko in April 2015.
“Following a diligent and successful recruitment process by the Board of directors at Kenya Civil Aviation Authority, I am pleased to announce the appointment of Emile Nguza Arao as the new director-general of KCAA with effect from 22 April 2022,” Transport CS James Macharia said in a statement.
“Emile is a highly talented and accomplished Aviation Professional holding his Bachelor of Science Degree in Aircraft Engineering Technology, his Master’s Degree in Business Administration in Aviation with a specialization in Aviation Systems Management both obtained from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University (U.S.A).”
Before his appointment, Arao headed the East African Community’s Civil Aviation Safety and Security Oversight Agency (EAC-Cassoa).
Cassoa is an institution of the East African Community bloc established to promote air safety and civil aviation development.
