“Hae guys, my name is Fayez and this is my dad, Michael Bundi, my best father.”
This is the sweet baby voice that welcomes you when you visit Michael Bundi social media pages.
Things have happened quit fast for Bundi, who launched his music career more than seven years ago and struggled for years to market his art work.
Instead of composing his own songs, he opted to do covers for Reggae songs.
The journey has not been rosy, he explained during an interview with YouTuber Eve Mungai.
“I’ve been in the industry for seven years. I have pushed with Konshens, I have pushed with Etana, I have pushed with every artiste out there, but most of the time, it was not bearing the fruits that I had hoped for.
“I almost gave up. It got to a point I looked at my YouTube I Had like 130 songs. I got desperate. I was releasing like a song every day or three songs per week just to see if there would be any luck,” Bundi said.
But after persisting, doors started to open.
He did a song for Jamaican Reggae musician, Etana. When the singer visited Kenya a few years ago, Kenyans on Twitter (KoT) made Bundi’s song trend until it got her attention.
Etana invited him for a meeting in Nairobi. He narrated his journey to her and she agreed to a collaboration, which came two years later.
But all that was not enough to make him a star.
His big breakthrough came just recently when he started recording himself with his son, Fayez.
Within a short space of to time, Bundi and Fayez, 4, have become an internet sensation.
He revealed that his son started to show interest in singing when he was just two.
When he started performing with the little boy, the stars aligned themselves.
Their cover songs have been attracting millions of views on Tiktok, YouTube and Facebook every week.
Netizens acknowledge that Fayez has been radiating positive vibes and they are always looking forward to the next performance.
