Sweden’s top-flight side AIK Fotboll has unveiled Harambee Stars forward Henry Atola Meja just four months after acquiring him from Kenyan Premier side Tusker FC.
AIK took to its official social media pages to confirm the signing of the 20-year-old star on a four-year deal.
He will don jersey 30 with ‘Atola’ imprinted on the back.
“On September 3, 2021, AIK Football was able to present the news that forward Henry Atola had signed an agreement with the club valid from the start of the season 2022 until September 2026,” read a statement on the club’s official website.
“Quite exactly four months later, “Meja” finally landed at Arlanda and on Thursday, he got to start for the first time acquaintance with his new home ground Friends Arena, where he was photographed in his new, black and yellow jersey with number 30 on his back.”
“My first impression is that it’s a bit cold, but I’m adjusting. I’m very happy to be here,” Meja said in an interview with AIK Play.
Meja will on Monday, 10th January do his first training with his new team when AIK starts the pre-season at Skytteholms IP.
He will now link up with fellow Harambee Stars player Erick Ouma alias Marcelo who also plays at the club.
