Kibabii University Appoints Prof Henry Kiriamiti as New Deputy VC

Kibabii University has announced the appointment of Prof Henry Kirimi Kiriamiti as the new Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic and Student Affairs).

In a handing-over ceremony attended by the university management, Prof Kiriamiti took over from the Dean, School of Computing and Informatics, Prof Franklin Wabwoba, who has been serving in an acting capacity since early July 2022.

The office fell vacant in March 2020 following the appointment of Prof Solomon Shibairo as the Vice-Chancellor of Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology.

Before landing the Kibabii job, he was a full professor in Process and Environmental Engineering in the Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at Moi University.

He holds Bachelors and MSc degrees in Chemical Engineering from the Technical University of Wroclaw, Poland, and a PhD in Process and Environmental Engineering from ENSIACET in Toulouse, France.

Prof Kiriamiti comes with a wealth of experience from both public and private sectors. He has worked as Dean, Deputy Principal and Vice-Chancellor in various universities in Kenya.

He has also worked with Kenya Pipeline Company (KPC) in training and development of a curriculum for Mordant College of Oil and Gas. He is the president of Institute of Chemical Engineers in Kenya and a fellow of Kenya Institution of Engineering Technologists and Technicians. He is also a member of the Chemical Society of Kenya and is registered by Engineers Board of Kenya.
