Retired President Mwai Kibaki’s private secretary, Ngari Gituku, has dismissed as untrue claims that he he has been hospitalised. He termed the people spreading the false information as “foolish, idle with nothing else to do”.

A section of mainstream media had on Thursday, 30th July, 2020 reported that the former President had been re-admitted to the Nairobi Hospital’s private wing  barely two weeks after being discharged.

The Star had reported that Kibaki had been driven back to the facility on Monday evening and was being treated for a previous ailment.

On 19th June, it was reported that the former President was taken to the hospital after he complained of pain in the lower abdomen.

Reports had indicated that Kibaki was admitted to the VIP wing for 10 days as medics worked around the clock to manage severe pain that resulted from an infection.
