Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya refused to be bullied by some people who did not want him to talk ill against Deputy President William Ruto during a meeting in Meru.

While defending his track record, Munya said he should not be blamed for all the misfortunes in the Agriculture sector.

He remarked that his predecessors, including the DP, did a shoddy job, but he was trying to make things right.

“Those who came before me did not work for the farmers. You known them and even Ruto was once an Agriculture Minister,” he said.

A section of the crowd shouted him down, saying, “stop attacking Ruto”.

Instead of changing the topic, Munya castigated those who did not want him to mention the second in command.

“You won’t stop me from saying what I want about Ruto. If you are not happy, just walk away because I must say what I want. Remember this is my meeting not yours,” he said.

He added some of the hecklers were sent in his meeting to jeer him.

“I have a right to say what I want. I will talk about Ruto and you will do nothing about it. I will tell Kenyans he looted the money meant to build the Arror and Kimwarer dams,” he said.

Interestingly, those who were jeering him went quiet after he scolding them.

Munya is supporting Azimio la Umoja One Kenya presidential candidate Raila Odinga to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta, who has fallen out with his deputy.

The former Meru Governor is among ten aspirants who were interviewed for the position of running mate in the Azimio coalition.
