Shock has engulfed a village in Mau Narok in Njoro after 25-year-old-Faith Wangui’s body was found in a thicket after she had reportedly met briefly with her estranged husband.
Just 3 days later, Joseph Mucheni allegedly commuted suicide. Nakuru County Police Commander Stephen Math told reporters that the body had been confirmed to be that of the key suspect in the murder of the mother of two.
Wangui is said to have left her home in Murang’a County to take her daughters aged two and six years to their aunt’s home in Nakuru.
Her sister said that Faith later changed her mind and decided to visit her estranged husband to try and resolve their marital differences after ensuring that her two daughters were under their aunt’s care.
Anxiety began to mount when her phone went off on Saturday at around 10pm after she sent a text message saying that she was meeting her lover at a club in Menengai.
This comes just days after a Kenya Air Force major appeared in a Nanyuki court following the discovery of the bodies of his estranged wife and their two children at a village near the Laikipia Air Base.
