MCA Demands Protection of Women at Kiambu Assembly

Kiambu CEC Member for Youth & Sports Karungo wa Thang’wa has today, November 10, asked Speaker Stephen Ndicho  to ensure a conducive working environment for women within the precincts of the County Assembly devoid of harassment and intimidation.
This comes two days after an expectant staff member was allegedly assaulted by  two MCAs.
Thang’wa denounced the attack as primitive, and  a sign of cowardice and backwardness.
Speaker Ndicho vowed to ensure  that everyone carries his or her own cross on the matter. The law and standing orders will be followed to the letter.
“I was away when this happened, but I can assure you it won’t be business as usual,” said Ndichu.
The two were speaking at an Akorino Church wedding in Mwihoko Ruiru.
