Media Fraternity Mourns Death of KTN Journalist Edwin Audi

KTN news director Edwin Audi died in a horrific accident on the Kajiado-Namanga road on Saturday, 26th September.

The Standard Group is mourning the death of one of its news directors, whose sudden death has stunned his family, the media fraternity and other Kenyans.

The accident involved two trucks and a Toyota Probox car.

According to police reports, the car driver had tried to overtake one of the trucks and collided with an incoming one.

According to media reports, two people died in the crash. Edwin lost his life on the spot.

Police said the driver of the Toyota Probox, which was carrying timber, tried to avoid ramming a truck and collided with an oncoming one and landed in a ditch, killing Audi.

Several other people, who suffered serious injuries, were hospital.

Kiswahili TV news anchor Zubeida Koome mourned the death of her colleague, saying that he was “a very professional man and very talented”.

Audi worked for the Nation Media Group before moving to KTN

Another KTN news anchor, Ben Kitili said: “Death is cruel. It has robbed us of Edu. Edwin Audi was one of the calmest news directors I have worked with. Hard to take but no more will my colleagues and I hear him talk back, saying calmly, ‘Usiwahi tense’, wonderful human being, ever friendly. Rest in power Edu!”
