Garissa Township MP and former National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale has lost his eldest brother in a road accident. The family has been thrown into mourning following the death Haji Dubow Bare Duale.
Bare, 62, was involved in an accident on the Garissa–Nairobi highway on Sunday morning, 18th October.
His death comes barely two months after the their mother, Hawa Kosar Shurie, passed away in hospital in Nairobi.
The retired military officer was a businessman in Garissa Town.
Taking to his Twitter account, Duale praised his brother for raising him and uniting the family.
“He was a brother who took part in my upbringing. He was loving, a bond of our family, and an elder in the community. He was the chairman of Masjid ibnu Qayim. He will be buried today after Asr prayers and his janazah prayers will at Masjid ibnu Qaayim,” wrote MP Duale.
Deputy President William Ruto sent condolences to the Duale family.
The DP described Bare as a distinguished leader, an astute businessman, and a devoted advocate for peace who would “be remembered for his vision and fresh ideas that transformed many lives.
“We honour Mzee Barre’s rich legacy and mourn his death with the family, friends and the people of Garissa Township, ” the DP said.
