The MCA for Kathonzweni in Makueni County, Francis Mutungi, recorded a statement today, 23rd February, at Makueni Police Station, claiming that his life is in danger.
Speaking to reporters after filing his complaint with the DCIO, Mutungi revealed that he had received threats from some county officials.
“They say I am fighting them because of my stand on incomplete projects and inefficient services to Makueni residents.”
The officials, whom he did not name, he claimed, had vowed to deal with him and others.
Last Wednesday, Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana reshuffled his Cabinet, sparking off differences in the county assembly, as some MCAs cast doubts on the ability of some ministers to deliver in their new dockets.
On Friday, some MCAs singled out Rosemary Mbavu, who was transferred from Devolution to the Water position.
They said that such a crucial docket that is allocated a lot of money in the county budget needed a proven performer to run it.
