Seasoned media personality Mark Masai has spoken out after Nation Media Group (NMG) dismissed him.
Masai has been a prime-time news anchor at NTV for 14 years.
But his stint at the Kamathi Street-based media house came to an end today after the company laid off some of its workforces in an attempt to cut the wage bill.
Chief Digital Editor Churchill Otieno and other in the print section were also shown the door.
Taking to his social media platforms, Masai thanked NTV for giving him a platform to grow his talent and advance in his career.
“NTV was a great team. These are different times (in reference to a short video he shared capturing his moments at NTV),” he said.
The father of two said the revolution in the media business has forced owners to make painful decisions.
He, however, remains upbeat that he will be back like he never left in the near future.
“This is the reality of the media landscape around the world and unfortunately, I was on the losing side of this one. However, this is not the end of my career in the media, I will be back on the platforms. All I have to say is watch this space,” he said.
