Even as President Uhuru Kenyatta met Mt Kenya region leaders today, November 15, for what is believed to have been a bid to mend fences and address the murmurs of increasingly disgruntled supporters from his political backyard, Kiambu Woman Rep Gathoni Wamuchomba declared that “on the ground, things are different”.

“Wanjiku is suffering. The President needs to look into the basic matters affecting the ordinary Kenyan. The four Jubilee agenda pillars are amazing, but I feel the State Boss should be trying to bring back the shillings into the pockets of normal Kenyans,” said the former popular radio personality.

The Kiambu Iron Lady explained that her people were frustrated because their businesses were deteriorating each day due to the economic difficulties bedeviling the entire country.

Poultry rearing, tea growing and and milk production were no longer as productive as before, having taken a beating from the struggling economy and the ordinary people of Kiambu were suffering, she lamented.
