Our Son Is Still Alive, Kakamega Family Insists

The controversial story of the 29-year-old man who fell off a Kenya Airways plane in London recently, as it approached Heathrow Airport, continued to cause confusion, with a family in Kakamega County disowning the image purported to be that of their son.
Isaac and Janet Akhali, of Mwakavhuli Village in Malava, said the young man identified as Paul Manyasi in the electronic images produced by the UK Metropolitan Police, was not their son, Centric Shivanje Isaac.
The UK police, who found the body and the stowaway’s personal belongings, constructed the images.
The parents produced their son’s birth certificate, which indicated that he was born in 1994, while the UK police gave his year of birth as 1991.
Colnet Limited, the airport cleaning company, where the man was said to have worked, has denied having an employee known as Paul Manyasi.
The family says their son left Kakamega in 2016 for Nairobi and they last spoke to him in 2017. The confusion intensified with Facebook updates indicating that Centric Shivonje posted a picture on 17th July, yet the body is believed to have fallen off the plane on 30th June.
