Over 10,000 Students to Benefit From Ksh60m Special County Bursaries

More than 10,000 students in Kitui County will benefit from the Propoa bursary plan initiated by its Ministry of Education.

The county government has allocated Ksh60 million to be disbursed to 10,752 students under the Propoa Bursary Initiative.

Speaking to reporters in his Kitui Town office, county education minister David Kivuitu said the bursary cheques were ready for distribution.

Each ward will receive Ksh1.5 million.

“We will be at the sub-county offices tomorrow morning to issue the bursary cheques to the ward administrators,” he said.

Beneficiaries should return to school after their mid-term break next week with their cheques.

Some 529 students living with disabilities are among the more than 10,000 Propoa Bursary Initiative beneficiaries.
