Juventus striker Paulo Dybala has today, 4th August, been named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the 2019-20 Italian Serie A season.
The 26-year-old, who joined Juventus in 2015 from Palermo, netted 11 goals and made seven assists in 33 appearances this season, according to Serie A statistics.
The Argentine beat his Juventus teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and Lazio forward Ciro Immobile, who was named the best striker. In the 2017/2018 season. Dybala didn’t win MVP Award as it went to Mauro Icardi.
The Serie A also presented five other awards based on player statistics and performance indicators collected by Stats Perform and Netco Sports from Serie A, Italian Cup and Italian Supercup matches.
“Today, we announce the MVPs of the 2019/2020 season. The performance measurement is based on the official statistics of the Serie A League, which represent the objective scientific evaluation criterion of the best of this season, which we managed to conclude with great determination overcoming infinite difficulties,” Serie A CEO Luigi De Siervo was quoted as saying by the League’s official website.
“It was an anomalous year, with a compressed ending, but these players managed to demonstrate their talent in all the matches played, illuminating our performances with great performances. Our heartfelt thanks go to them and all the other athletes for their professionalism, commitment and sacrifices,” he added.
The best players will be awarded at the beginning of the next 2020/2021 championship.
