The past weekend was a roller coaster of mixed emotions for Nairobi-based entertainer DJ Pierra Makena. This was after her planned ‘Park and Chill’ event in Meru almost never happened following an order from Governor Kiraitu Murungi. For three days now, DJ Makena has taken to her social media platforms to rant about the unfair treatment meted out to herself and her team.
In a long post, she expressed her frustrations. She wrote: “Covid is real! But I will not die of hunger! What is wrong with being part of the solution??? People need to survive…we need solutions. Kenyans are killing themselves because they don’t have a solution.”
The event that was stopped on Saturday, 31st July, was, however, allowed to progress on Sunday, 1st August. As a result, the single mother of one claimed that it wasn’t really because of Covid-19 but a hidden agenda to bring down her idea. Her remorseful fans consoled and encouraged her to keep it up.
While defending her project, she said she had not flouted any Covid-19 measures.
The clearly irritated DJ shared another post, saying that what was meant for someone would always remain his or hers regardless of having no power or connections.
