Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua shared a light moments with mourners during that funeral service of Trade and Investment Cabinet Secretary Moses Kuria.

The ceremony was attended by senior government officials, among them President William Ruto and his deputy, as well as entertainers from the Mt Kenya region.

Reflecting on the role of Mt Kenya musicians and comedians during last year’s General Election, Gachagua pointed fingers at some of them for accepting tokens from the then government of retired President Uhuru Kenyatta to mislead the Gema Nation.

He singled out gospel musician Ben Githae and Mugithi maestro Samuel Muchoki aka Samidoh, who seldomly missed in Azimio la Umoja’s big rallies.

“Githae lied to the old man (Raila Odinga) that he had conquered the Mountain. Always know that you cannot sway people easily,” Gachagua said.

On that note, Gachagua poked fun at Samidoh over the recent dramas involving his first wife, Edday Nderitu and mistress baby mama Karen Nyamu, who is a Nominated Senator.

Be In Charge

The second in command advised the singer to put his house in order and always ensure disagreements are not spiralling to the public.

“Be in charge of your home. Try to tame your spouses. We should not know what is happening in your home,” he said, throwing mourners into fits of laughter.

Referring to the latest incident in which Edday and Karen nearly exchanged blows as Samidoh was performing on stage in Dubai, Gachagua said that was a bad display and should never happen again.

“That should not have happened in a foreign land. Next time we might not allow you to travel with them. Elders could also fine you for not being the man you ought to be.”

He added that it is African for a man to be polygamous, but that should be kept a secret to the rest of the world.
