ODM leader Raila Odinga’s long-serving aide Silas Jakakimba has resigned from the Orange party and cut ties with the opposition leader.
This comes days after she accused Raila’s daughter, Winnie Odinga of insulting her for updating his Twitter cover image with a photo of him and President William Ruto.
“WINNIE ODINGA used F’Word on me last night for what she terms betrayal in lieu of my Cover Photo.What she FAILS to appreciate:We respect JAKOM-done HALF the Yrs of my Life arnd him& if she CARES to know,we’ve had to hard-furnace via INVISIBLE Sacrifices to that Cadre of LOYALTY,” he wrote on his social media platforms.
In a letter to the Registrar of Political Parties, Jakakimba asked to be removed as an ODM life time member.
He also resigned as Raila’s advisor.
Jakakimba’s popularity has bumped up over the years due to his closeness with the former Prime Minister.
During last year’s presidential election campaigns, he came under fire several times for blocking people from seeing Raila.
